Dr. Athos: I was blessed almost 30 years ago to be left with an amazing practice. And then part of my fault was we let Tinley Park get too big. And when you get too big, you lose some of that personal touch. You lose that one-on-one philosophy with patients. And when I was running around from room to room to room to room, I’m like, “This isn’t me. You know, I want to sit down and get to know guys like yourself and what you’re about and what are your interests.” And once you get to know somebody, it’s more fun for you and myself to work together to achieve a goal. If you’re working on a stranger, a number in your computer, it’s not as fun and it’s not as comfortable for either one. We offer health care over a business, first and foremost. I’m probably most proud of the team that I’ve assembled. Like, I cannot praise them enough. What we’ve created here is so comforting, it’s so at ease. I have less pressure here than I do at home. They’ve created that beautiful aspect.
Man 1: What you can expect from us is to make sure that you’re taken care of. We’re here to help you. And it doesn’t matter what’s going on, make sure you know everything that’s happening, you know everything that’s going on. And if there’s ever anything we can do, we will do it for you. I’m telling you, it’s just the family side of things. It’s one of those where it’s hard to come by, but when you see it, you grip on and you hold on tight because there’s so much that can happen. Dentistry is 15% of what actually happens in the dental office. The biggest thing is trust. I could do the easiest or the hardest filling altogether, but most of it is is the patient okay. We do a really good job of making sure that you’re taken care of on that one side so then the dental side of things comes easy. That’s not even a concern at all.
Woman: They make you feel very important. It’s very family-oriented is kind of how I would put it. Just from people bringing in different snacks and Dr. Athos posting different things that people bring, and we just kind of wanna make it like a fun environment. So people look forward to coming. So I look forward to coming and bringing my Reese’s Pieces candy for Dr. Athos because he loves it. They make it like family.
Man 2: I’ve had friends over the years who have ignored good dental hygiene and conscientious pursuit of having their teeth taken care of, and they’ve suffered health-wise in a myriad of ways you would not suspect related to their teeth, but that’s actually what it caused. So, for me, I had first-hand experience, and they reinforce that every time we talk about it, the fact that good dental health is a key to good overall health.
Man 3: One of the things that I really value and appreciate about John and his staff is you always feel safe. You always feel welcome. They do not make me feel ashamed if I’m struggling with a dental x-ray or if I’m struggling with having, you know, the equipment and things in my mouth.
Woman 2: I’m a nurse by trade, and what I’ve always told my patients is you have to trust your health care providers. You have to trust in them who they are. You have to believe in them as well. So all of the suggestions and anything that I needed done with my teeth, there was always this discussion, and I always trusted in John and what he suggested to me as well.
Woman 3: Dr. Athos is just an amazing dentist, very knowledgeable, very helpful. He always kind of points things out to say, you know, here’s where we are, here’s how things can be enhanced, where I think, in this type of practice, you could potentially feel a little bit of a sales push, and you never ever feel that way with Dr. Athos or anybody at his office. He remembers everything about your life, what you have going on. He asks you questions. So it is definitely more personal than anything. It goes by so fast.
